Game setup takes 5 minutes or less. The first couple of times you play it will take 30 minutes to an hour. After you're familiar with the basics of game play, an average game will take 30 minutes or less. There are also house alternative rules to create shorter and longer games. Although Campaign Secrets shows the dirty underbelly of the political process, it is a completely clean and family friendly game. The game is designed for players ages 10+.

The game plays quite well with only two players, but there isn't as much strategy then. It's more a matter of chance. There are enough cards in the deck to have a game of 8 people, but the speed of the game tends to slow down with that many people playing.
