Uploading Your Game

Once you have created your files, you are ready to upload your game and build it out through our user interface.

Uploading via FTP

Once you have created the images you need to use for building your game boards and cards, you need to upload them to the site. You can do this one at a time through the web interface, but that can be quite tedious. For that reason we have an FTP server.

You'll need an FTP client to log in to our FTP server. If you don't already have one, here are the clients we recommend for each platform:

Windows Filezilla
Mac CyberDuck
Linux Filezilla

Note that some operating systems and some web browsers have an FTP client built in. For example on Windows you can open Windows File Explorer and type "ftp://ftp.thegamecrafter.com" into the address bar. Then right click and select "Login as..." to enter your username and password.

Once you have an FTP client, use the following to connect:

hostname: ftp.thegamecrafter.com
username: your username on this site
password: your password on this site

After you've uploaded your images to the FTP server, you'll be able to select them in the game creation wizard.

WARNING: Your files are only kept on our FTP server for 5 days. You have 5 days to use them in a game before they are deleted.

Next Steps

After you've uploaded your files to our FTP server, in the main navigation you'll see a link called "My TGC". This will bring you to our game creation wizard. The game creation wizard will help you publish your game to thegamecrafter.com.

When you first enter My TGC, you'll see a place listing your games, and an option to add games.

Game Manager

When you add a game you'll be brought into the game manager. Here you can set the basic properties of your game, as well as upload components like cover art, cards, boards, and instructions. From the game manager you'll also be able to add parts like dice, pawns, and tokens to your game.

Uploading Components

As you can see from the screenshot below, adding components to your game is quite simple. You can either choose to upload images directly from your computer, or choose images you have already uploaded to our FTP server.
