I've been a member of the Game Crafter community since 2011 (or perhaps earlier... I can't remember), but I've been largely missing for the past couple of years because I have been spending all of my free time on a new creative venture.
I wrote a book called 'The Wrylin' and it's currently running a campaign on Kindle Scout. If you're not familiar with Kindle Scout, it's kind of like Kickstarter for books. In the process, I think I've found that I'm a better author than I am a game designer.
I know many game designers would like the idea of designing a game for a book (I would). So, here's the deal... If anyone is interested in creating a game based on my book, let me know and, assuming you create a game that is in keeping with the feel of the book, I'll grant you the (non-exclusive) rights free of charge.
A little about the book. It's fantasy, but with very little (if any) magic in it. Think more 'The Pillars of the Earth' or 'World Without End' than 'Lord of the Rings' or 'The Name of the Wind.' But hey, there were some pretty good games based off of 'The Pillars of the Earth' and 'World Without End!' You can get a better feel for it on the Kindle Scout page.
I'm not Stephen King or George RR Matrin, so don't expect it to sell millions of copies, but I am proud of the book and I think any game based off it would help both the book and game sell better. Of course, both would do much better if my Kindle Scout campaign is successful and Amazon decides to publish the book! So lastly, I would like to ask all of you, whether you're interested in creating a game or not to please take a look at my book and consider nominating it. If you nominate it and Amazon decides to publish it, you'll even get a free copy of it. And if it's not picked by Amazon, I'll be self-publishing it, anyway.
You can see more about the book here: The Wrylin
