First off-the-bat, this is not Monopoly. They share a similar genre but the similarities really end there and that’s OK because CASH: The Card Game is a great time on its own. The game is easy to teach and financial in nature as you, the future tycoons about to inherit the earth, prepare to do battle in the pits of greed and cut-throat commerce. But you have to keep your guard up because there is likely a traitor or two in your midst and they will sabotage your efforts to keep your CASH safe. If you like playing mind numbing repetitive games with a group of good friends who don’t take their games too seriously, then this game may not fit the bill. Every time I’ve played it, the outcome has mostly been different with a barrage of “what the …!” and “OMG’s”’ always surfacing at some point. Each game, depending on how the group co-operates, or sabotage each other, dictates your success or failure. There are even elements in the game where ruthlessness is rewarded and promises are encouraged to be broken. But do not despair, that just adds to the fun of the game. Its short (about 30-40 minutes per play depending on your group), thematic (who doesn’t like being a business Moghul or tycoon?) and fun and if you’re looking for a good casual game or something to play with friends who appreciate some home grown strategy, CASH: The Card Game is a great choice to bring to the table!
