Daiza is a card game for two players that will test the very limits of your mind! Battle for control of each of four daiza (pedestals), using the cards to try to secure a better score than your opponent! With every move you must decide, will you press the attack, or carefully defend your pedestals? Is victory in your grasp or are you being led into a trap? Discover the mystery of Daiza!
Each player begins the game with 20 cards: 0-9 "friendly" and 0-9 "hostile" cards, and takes turns playing a card on one of the four daiza (literally "pedestals"), which are four stacks of cards arranged in a row. The objective is to end the game with more points on top of the daiza than your opponent; friendly cards score points for you and hostile cards score points for your opponent. What card you can play is determined by the card currently on top of the daiza: if the top card is friendly (has your color in the middle), you must play a higher ranked card; if the top card is hostile (has your opponent's color in the middle), you must play a lower ranked card; if there is no card on the daiza, you may play any card. You must play a card if you can; once a player cannot legally play a card, the game ends and a winner is declared. That's all there is to it!
