"Election Day" is a game of a US presidential election. The player or players each take the role of a candidate running for president. Campaign state by state, run media campaigns, and launch vicious attacks on your opponents! But of course, all this costs money, which you must raise either directly or get from Political Action Committees.
Some states are more responsive to one candidate than another. A Republican has an easier time gaining support in Texas. A Democrat has an easier time gaining support in California.
The game includes endorsements, debates, and other events.
Then comes election day! Results come in across the country from the east coast to the west, one state at a time. The candidate who had the most support in each state will probably win ... but his opponent may pull off a surprise upset victory! And states that are "too close to call" are always nail-biters.
The game provides for Democrats and Republicans, plus two third parties, Libertarians and Greens.
Can YOU plot a winning strategy for a presidential campaign?
Can be played solitaire. (There are rules to control the actions of the non-player candidates -- kind of a "paper AI".)
Players: 1-4
