The Job Interview Workout

The Job Interview Workout is a game that allows ESL or EFL college students who are in their intermediate or advanced levels to review the different steps of the interviewing process necessary to obtain a job. The game is versatile enough, however, that it could target a wider range of audiences like college students who are native speakers of English or even an older audience who is looking to acquaint themselves with common interview questions and how to tackle them.

This game uses a board divided in four sections to present the different steps of the interview process. Each player will take turns drawing cards and answering questions from the different sections represented on the board. Each participant will move forward after each correct response, as evaluated by the rest of the players. The person who advances through all four sections first, wins the game.

Although this game is designed as a speaking enforcement activity in an ESL or EFL classroom, it could be easily played outside class with a wide range of audiences who are looking to test their skills at answering, very often tricky, job interview questions.
