Description
Dawson City Barbers For 4-6 players with 45 minutes Designed by Jeph Stahl Illustrations by Greg Daigle
The Gold Rush has hit Dawson City. Thousands descend on the once barren location for the chance for fortune and glory. Gold emerges from the streams, and hair grows from the head. A fortune is available in both gold and hair. Only the most savvy barbers will earn a fortune through cutting hair, training, and panning for gold.
Gameplay Dawson City Barbers is a light tactical game where players take the roles of barbers looking for their fortunes in the Klondike. By scheduling their time carefully, players will be able to outwit, outwork and outpan their way to victory. But they must keep a close eye on the competing barbers, as they will need to get their own hair cut by one of them.
The basic action is for a player to play a schedule card and move his markers up the corresponding tracks, advancing in training, working and panning. Each track has its own characteristics when moving a pawn. E.g. tying on the panning track moves the marker back down the river, whereas tying on the train track move the marker up in relative skill.
Once a round a player must decide on a competing barber to get his hair cut by. This way players 'bet' on which barber will have the best skill and therefore give the best haircuts. The better haircut a player has the better payout from his customers.
