Rolling Seas update Wed Apr 07 2021

Well, we keep chugging along, making a few sales here and there. Please consider sharing the campaign so we can continue to hit more discounts!

Today I'd like to talk a little bit about the two special cards that you'll get just with this Crowd Sale. These cards haven't been available before the sale and they won't be available after the sale, except directly through me (and in very limited quantities - like only 5 or 6).

The Gryphon's Cave and Eye of the Storm

Most Adventure cards in Rolling Seas have only one type of Adventure on them. For the Crowd Sale I wanted to try something special and mix up the Adventure types on a card. I've also enjoyed playing with the special exploration spots I have on some of the pre-generated maps (in the Crew Members and Map Pack 2 expansions). So these two cards offer a little of both.

The benefits at the center space of the Adventures is pretty big - a Resupply for Eye of the Storm and 5 Gold for The Gryphon's Cave, but they may not super easy to get to since an opponent will draw them on your map in any space available! Is it worth it to head to the other side of your map just for the bonus? That'll be for you to decide!

Eye of the Storm is a combination of Storms and Currents. While the Storms aren't really any different than a standard Storm, the Currents are only single spaces. So if you want to maximize the Story Points you can get from this card you'll need to sail in and out of the eye multiple times.

The Gryphon's Cave has Rocks and Sea Monsters, but has a whopping 5 Gold inside! Since your opponent can place this anywhere on your map and one side is all Rock they can make this pretty tricky for you to access. But ooohh, look at all that Gold!

Note: Neither of thess is recommended for solo play, however if you promise to place them as far from your ship as possible (no crossed fingers), I don't see why you can't try them in a solo game.

Well, I hope you enjoy your copy of Rolling Seas and these little extras. I'm excited to hear the tales you'll tell about the treasure you snagged from the fierce beak of the gryphon, or the floating mass of barrels you discovered amassed in the eye of the storm.

Thanks for joining me on this journey!
