Survive six rounds without triggering a full blackout to prove you’re the true Mastermind behind the Microgrid! This game is designed to be fun first yet designed for learning.

This game was designed with the following learning objectives:

Students will be able to:

- explain in simple terms why generation needs to match load
- compare different generation methods & explain the strengths & weaknesses of these methods
- describe how events in one area of the electrical grid affect other areas
- list sources of distribution & transmission instability & vulnerability
- demonstrate how a diverse mix of generation resources as well as redundant connections help mitigate and prevent outages
- identify different energy storage methods and explain why these energy storage methods would be used in the power grid
