In this newsletter we talk about our upcoming Protospiel Madison event, our new VHS Case Challenge, the industry award we've been nominated for, a mystery box that we sent to Pam Walls, and improvements to the 3D Product Viewer on our site.
Protospiel Madison 2024 is only 1 month away! November 1-3 in Madison, Wisconsin. Get your badges before they sell out!
Protospiel Madison is another great Protospiel event where amateur & established game designers get together to test and promote game prototypes in a supportive/collaborative environment. This casual event is based on sharing experiences and insight toward a goal of making the best games.

Protospiel Madison is hosted by The Game Crafter and we are providing a smorgasbord of free blank components and game pieces for attendees. We love to support indie game designers and design events.

Several publishers will be in attendance looking for new games. These include: AEG, Paverson Games, Prolific Games, Thunderworks Games, Play to Z Games, World of Game Design, and Renegade Game Studios.
The Game Crafter has a new community board game design contest and it's called the VHS Case Challenge!
This contest is very simple: Make a great game that fits inside the new VHS Box that's available at The Game Crafter.
Do your best to fill the case with as much game as possible. We’re not looking for micro games or 18-card wallet games! Get creative with how components are used. People should get done playing and wonder how in the world you fit that much game into a case literally the size of a VHS tape.
The judge for this board game design contest is Gabe Barrett, who is the founder of Best With 1 Games and Board Game Design Lab.
The Game Crafter was nominated for “Most Innovative Supplier of the Year” for The 2024 Toy and Game Innovation Excellent Awards (TAGIE Awards).
The TAGIE Awards, now in its 17th year, honor the most innovative inventors, designers, suppliers, retailers, marketers and PR teams in the toy and game industry. This is a huge honor for our team and we enjoy working with so many folks in the toy and game industry.
Public voting for finalists is allowed, so we need your help to vote for The Game Crafter in the Most Innovative Supplier category!

Instructions: Vote for The Game Crafter on the 6th page of the survey. You can click “next” at the bottom of the page until you get to “Innovative Supplier of the year”. Thank you for your support!
In this video, Pam Walls opens up a mystery box full of board game bits and components from The Game Crafter. You'll also hear all about why Pam loves The Game Crafter.

We’ve extended our 3D Product Viewer to handle Dual Layer boards in all three sizes. This is a great way to double check that your cutouts are in the right places, to verify the face versus back orientation, to simulate the effects of drift on your final design, and to take some cool shots of your work for your Shop page or crowdfunding campaign.
Make sure that each Dual Layer Board has graphics for the Face, Back, Inner, an SVG cutfile, and that you’ve proofed everything. Then the “View in 3D” button will be available for you to use!
