Connecticon Convention and Some game Design Theory
I will be displaying and/or demo-ing the following games:
Alien labyrinth, PACS, Plague, Grablin, Monkey Dice, Retreat to Woodbury Falls, Villages, Animus, Zogar's gaze, and a few games that are still in progress that i'm making... "Where's my sheep?" and Cardoken a card game that pay's homage to 90's fighting games.
My Game Design Method:
I think it's important to show unfinished games to newcomers as it shows the versatility of prototyping at TGC. For me when I have an idea for a game I take the following steps; I write it out on the notepad of my phone, and then I sketch the game pieces, then I make a mock up on photoshop/manga studio. Finally I order more parts than I think I need at TGC and completely bypass the index card/marker phase. This way here it's like a very immersive and graphical puzzle. I can test out different ideas and balancing.
It worked out really well for the "Retreat to Woodbury Falls" and "Where's My Sheep".
