Players take turns in a clockwise order. Determine first player by dice roles, highest goes first. (First player should rotate clockwise each new field dealing)
First turn, enter the field by turning over the middle card on your side of the table.
Then Follow the instructions on the card.
On Later turns:
If in Combat: See Combat Turns
Ready to Travel: Pick a terrain inline with the card you are on, you can not move diagonal. Turn that card over, if you want to enter that terrain, move in and follow the directions. If you do not wish to enter that terrain, remain on your card.
End of your turn, if you are not in combat you can use one of your items such as a healing potion.
Combat strats when drawing a monster card.
Weapons and abilities with ‘Ranged’ designator can attack without an attack by the monster. Sneak attack also gets to attack without a monster attack. The mage can use the ranged magic attack on the first turn of combat.
Roll both the red and blue dice. Add your attack to the blue die, Subtract the monster’s defense from the total. If the monster is dead, move on to item roll. If the monster is alive, add its attack to the red die. Subtract your defense from the total and this is the damage you take.
Next player takes their turn to move.
Combat continues after the rest of the players take their turn. You can use ranged weapons, but the monsters get to attack if they live through your damage the same as with melee user. The mage must use their weapon or scroll, not the magic attack on their card.
Once the monster is dead, roll a die, if the number matches one of the numbers in the bottom left corner of the monster card, you have found an item.
