Planetary Profiteers

Ad astra ad lucrum! You each represent a different culture from a solar system where competition for dominance among your peoples has been the norm for centuries. Now rivals have come together (barely) to send your team on a voyage to negotiate with worlds new to you to build an interplanetary confederation and earn commissions.

You are each in this for yourselves, yet you will somehow have to work together to complete missions. The player with the highest commission point total at the end of the game is the winner.

Game contents: 81 offer cards, 9 tactics cards, 12 planet tiles, 4 dice, and a rules/instructions page.

Offer cards are offered to the planet players are negotiating with. They range in value from 1 to 3 and come in three color-coded categories: goods in green (anything from raw materials to art works), access in yellow (to power, knowledge, or trade), and force in red (a show of force sometimes produces results). Three of the D3 dice are color matched to their offer card category. The white die can be used as a counter to keep track of the offer attempt.

Tactics cards impact player interaction with other team members and their home culture. They include:

• Sabotage. Can be played to undermine other players during the negotiation process and keep them from earning a commission.
• Mutiny. Can be played to grab immediate leadership of the current mission from another player and earn commissions.
• Recall. The player’s strength as their culture’s negotiator has been questioned. The player must respond immediately.

Planet tiles are used as the basis of each mission.

Every player gets to lead at least one mission. Players determine the length of the game when they begin, up to 12 missions. A four mission game with four players lasts about 30 minutes.
