The Necromancer is dead! It seems he’s been dead for some time now. You, the brave villagers, must enter his tomb to clear it of his foul minions, and evil artifacts. You have only your trusted weapons to protect you, your bravery to guide you, and your fellow villagers to rely on. Clear the Tomb, save the lands from evil, and return heroes!
DarkQuest: The Card Game is a cooperative card game for 1-5 players.
Managing your hand of 3 cards, your group of Villagers must exhaust the Tomb, and clear all Minion cards from the Tomb row, before any of you take 4 wounds or run out of cards in your hands.
Choose a Weapon Card to use for the game. Weapon Cards list all the Minion types, and your proficiency at defeating them.
Create the Tomb Deck
The Tomb deck is made by dealing out a set number of Tomb cards.
1 Player = 15 cards 2 Players = 25 cards 3 Players = 35 cards 4 Players = 45 cards 5 Players = 55 cards
Each player is then dealt a hand of 3 cards from the remaining Tomb cards.
On your turn you will:
Play a Card
Choose a card from your hand to play.
Minon cards are played to the Tomb row, in the center of the play area. If three of the same Minion Icons appear in the Tomb Row, there is a Minion Surge.
Artifacts are played on a Villager, and cause a wound. Track your wounds by sliding a Wound Tracker card under your weapon card.
Wound cards are played on a Villager, cause a wound, and count toward a Minion Surge.
Enchantment cards are played ona Villager, and grantr a one time bonus such as healing or rolling an extra die.
Corruption cards are played on a Villager, and that player must replace the regular white die, with the dark Corruption die.
Skull & Shield cards Skull and Shield cards are used to buff a die roll with an extra Skull or Shield result.
You can always play Minion, Artifact, Wound, and Enchantment cards as your Play a Card action. If all Villagers are Corrupted, you may discard a Corruption card from your hand. If you have only Skull & Shield cards, or Enchantment cards that do not apply to the game state you must discard one as your Play a Card.
Minion Surge
If 3 of the same Minion Icon appear in the Tomb Row, or as a Wound card in fromt of a player, there is a Minion Surge. If this occurs all Villagers are Bloodied and must turn their weapon cards over to the Bloodied side. Being Bloodied counts toward the 4 wound loss condition. The Bloodied condition cannot be healed during the Action Phase with your die roll, and must be healed with a card. Bloodied does count toward the 4 Wounds loss condition. If a Villager is Blodied again, mark this with the Bloodied side of their Wound card.
Action Phase
Roll the dice to perform 1 Action:
Attack a Minion Choose a Minion Icon to attack from the Tomb Row. Looking at your weapon card determine how many Skulls you must roll to defeat that Minion. Roll the dice and compare the result to your weapon card. If the roll is successful, remove that Minon Card from the Tomb Row.
Heal Look at the Heal icon(s) on your weapon card. Roll the dice and compare the result to your Heal icons. If you match the required icon(s) you may remove a wound, but not a Bloodied condition.
Search Look at the Search icon(s) on your weapon card. Roll the dice and compare the result to your Search icon(s). If you match the required icon(s) you may reveal on of the Treasure cards.
You may play Skull and Shield cards as successes to boost your roll, after rolling the dice
Treasure Cards
Treasure cards are magical protections againt the Minion Surge. Each Treasure pictiresd one of the Minion icons it will protect against. If a Minion Surge occurs, and you have the matching Treasure card, remove the matching Minioon cards from the Tomb Row, and remove the Treasure card from play. Wound cards stay in place, they must be healed to be removed.
Winning
If the Tomb Deck is delpeted, and all Minion cards have been removed from the Tomb row to the discard pile before all Viligers have run out of cards, the Villagers win!
