Description

2321: The largest city on the moon of Klathea 52-F is under attack as waves of alien ships suddenly appear in the sky above it. You are unable to even fire one proton blast before fire rains down onto the city. The alien attack consists of 2 waves. In the 1 st wave they surprise you with a squadron of scouts and small bombers. While you are fighting against wave 1 your engineers, generals, and scientists work hard to get all of the defense systems online. And if you survive it you will be much better prepared for the next wave. But so will they as they flood you with lager bombers, high speed aircrafts, and the mothership.

Objective

During each wave you will be randomly drawing cubes and assigning them to various defensive facilities like your cannons and the force field. Every color of cube is more suited to a different task. If you are to survive you will have to both eliminate immediate incoming threats, as well as make sure you are ready for the next attack.

What is Decimation?

Decimation is a very small 1-Card game made for the 2021 card - 12 components PnP design contest**, designed by To Van Audenhove.

Game Overview

In this game you will be randomly drawing cubes from your supply and placing them onto the game card, performing the actions on the spaces once you've filled a row. When you no longer have any cubes to play the enemy ships will attack, dealing the amount of damage shown under their current health. You then take back into your supply the action cubes not on the card.

But here's where it gets interesting; every round you will be randomly removing one cube from the supply, forcing you to rethink your strategy every round. On top of that every time the city's health reaches 0 you will remove a random cube from the game forcing you to change your strategy as the city gets weaker.

When you reduce the first wave's health to 0 you flip over the card to begin fighting the second, and final, wave.

If at any time you run ou of cubes then the city succumbs to alien race attacking it. If, however, you reduce the health of the second wave of alien ships to 0 then you immediately win the game!
