Elemental Connection

Elemental Connection is a minimalist abstract puzzle board game about making... elemental connections! Relax, think, and match the colored tiles as the board unfolds.

RULES

Procedure

1. Place all tiles face down or inside of a bag, so that players cannot see the tile faces.
2. Both players draw two tiles.
3. The first player places a tile anywhere on the board, then draws a new tile.
4. The next player places either of their two tiles adjacent to the first tile so that the edges align, then draws a new tile.
5. Players take turns placing tiles in this manner, making certain to:
   • always place a tile adjacent to other tiles on the board, and;
   • always have two tiles to choose from on their turn.
6. The game ends when the board is filled. Whomever has the most points wins!

Boards

A typical "board" is an 8x8 grid with each border having its own color. Use your available space and the rectangular border markers to create a play area that functions this way.

As you play more, you might find yourself interested in varied board shapes and sizes. Feel free to experiment! Pictured here, the 4 border markers are used to frame an imaginary 8x3 space.
