Goetia Seals (in flashing colours)

Evocation for the Modern Age

The Lesser Key of Solomon, often also called Goetia and Lemegeton is a system of evoking spirits (72 in total) to visible appearance and convincing them to do your bidding. These Spirits are divided into 7 categories, each with a planetary correspondence.

In Medieval Magic these planetary forces are represented by metals, and in the Solomonic system the seal of a spirit who does your bidding is sometimes rewarded by having their seal cast in metal.

In the late 19th Century the Golden Dawn developed a system of 'flashing colours' using colour to evoke an immediate response. The seven traditional planets also have this system of colour correspondences. At this time planetary seals and talismen began to be produced using colour rather than being cast in metals.

Here this colour system is applied to the seals of the spirits of the Goetia based on planetary rulership. Appease the spirits by making an effort to recognise their office.

Some Spirits have two rulers, and for each Spirit with dual rulerships, two colour seals are included. Depending on what is being asked, the planetary hour and astrological influences will decide which is used. With duplicates/ seals for dual rulerships there are 82 sigils in this deck.

The box incorporates the symbol for sealing the spirits/ seal in the brass vessel and is designed thus for safe storage of the seals.

This deck of seals is for practitioners and does NOT come with instructions. People seeking instruction are directed to The Lesser Key of Solomon (translated by Joseph Peterson), Goetia (edited by Aleister Crowley) and The Techniques of Solomonic Magic by Dr. Stephen Skinner.
