Description

Humans have failed. For centuries, they have been left alone as “rulers” of the Earth and seem to have only achieved the destruction of their own planet. The Ancient Powers faded in the background long ago to give the barely aware humanity a chance to develop. But they must return and set a new course for our world. But the world is cold now, devoid of the old magic, inhospitable to the creatures of Myth. Fortunately, some were left behind for such an eventuality. The players are the dragons of legends, trapped in human form to be the eyes and ears of the Old Ones. For the Magic to flow once again along the ley lines that crisscross the land, enough mystical Nexus must be reawakened by bringing the right Artifact to the right place. Not only will they have to locate those Artifacts locked away in museums as ancient treasures or curiosities but also defeat whoever is guarding each Nexus. From deceived humans to other mythical beings, the Guardians will not give up without a fight while in the shadows, the enigmatic group only known as the Adversary hurries to collect and destroy the same Artifacts. Will the dragons complete the mission they have waited centuries for or will it be all for naught?
Objective
In Here be Dragons, players attempt to awaken the magical energies by activating mystical nexus spread across the world. They do so by recovering specific artifacts from locations around the world and then defeating the Guardian of each site. Players win the game if they manage to activate six of the 12 nexus before the Adversary can destroy four nexus.

Rules Addendum:
What are those Air tokens for?
When characters attempt to acquire Artifacts from locations with Airtokens, they may use those tokens to reroll the die and/or add one to the die result per Air token spent. Characters may use any number of tokens and remove them from the location as they use them.
