Asteroid mining is booming, and it's increasingly hard to acquire proper licenses. Your branch of the company is tasked with mining in a not exactly legal area. But it looks like one of your competitors had the same idea! Crippling their ships in this remote area should be okay; they are breaking the law anyway! Mine out enough ores and get a promotion, or slack off and get fired!
Your goal is to mine 9 times first or crush your rival's fleet faster than he can rebuild it.
The game consists of rounds, and the rounds are divided into phases:

Buy ships for your fleet using the ore you've mined.

Send your ships to asteroids. But watch out for your rival's deployments! The slowest ships are positioned first, therefore faster ships can decide which groups of slower ships they want to avoid or follow. (You can send any number of ships to the same asteroid, so there is no advantage of placing ships first.)

Each ship gets a turn to act, starting with the fastest. A ship may either attack or mine.
You mine by placing a cube of your color onto a mining slot on the asteroid card; to do so, the ship must have a mining value of at least the difficulty level of the mining slot. You will get this ore at the end of the round, but this slot can't be used again until then.

The attack value of your ship determines how much damage it can deal to other ships at the same asteroid. You may distribute the damage to multiple targets. If the total damage inflicted on a ship reaches its defense value, it is destroyed. However, surviving ships recover from damage at the end of the round.
