Description

My So Called Murder

A very 90s Teen Tragedy

It's 1990-something, and I just died. My name is Cameron Baker, but none of you would probably know that, had I not just become the most famous kid in school. All it took was going to the biggest party of senior year, forgetting everything that happened, and then of course... dying.

A game that plays like Coup meets Clue, and feels as if it were a movie directed by John Hughes (Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science) and Cameron Crowe (Fast Times of Ridgemont High, Say Anything, Almost Famous).

My So Called Murder combines strategy, bluffing, and deduction. Just like Coup, your opponents do not know what cards you have, so you can bluff. Say you have any card and use that card’s special ability. If your opponent suspects you are lying, she can call you out on it, and if you actually are bluffing you pay the steep cost of your card! But, if you are not bluffing, then the challenger pays the price!

Like Clue your goal is to guess the three cards in the secret envelope. These cards are the answer to the game's central question: What happened to Cameron Baker? You are looking for the whodunnit, wheredunnit, and howdunnit, and must do so before your opponents! But be careful - guess wrong, and you will be out of the game!

Improvements on Clue

As social deduction games go, Coup is a powerhouse. As detective party games go, Clue is a timeless classic. But the pesky things about Clue are the luck of the dice and the tedious travel around the board. Also, the variants for two-player options are cumbersome at best.

What better way to correct this, then add some of the social deduction mechanics of Coup? And, there is a "dummy hand" played by no one, which allows for some interesting game play especially for two-player matches!

Current Cards

Currently there are twelve "Who", twelve "Where", and twelve "How" cards:

  • Sporto | Football Field | Bad Fight
  • Freak | Ravenswood | Car Crash
