NWO is a different kind of war game because players are not stuck with one losing faction, instead they can pursue many paths to victory. If the faction that you are currently backing begins to decline, then you can dump them and use the refunded costs to back a new Faction. Furthermore, players can back ANY of the Factions they want, and they can change sides at any time! This gives the players flexibility.

NWO solves the 'kingmaker’ problem.

You are in second place with a good shot of winning, but the person in last place just happens to like the person in first more, so they attack you… OR, you just couldn’t make it happen in this game and are stuck in a position that doesn’t look good, but you are forced to make a decision that will strongly influence the outcome…

We have all been here. In NWO, even a losing position has a chance to come back. Players can sell out of their losing position at anytime, gaining crucial resources to invest in a new chance at winning.
