This month, The Roll and Write Revolution is calling back to a simpler time with Park Deco. It’s 1939, and you have a problem - a lot of problems - but this problem is specific to your valets. They packed your parking lot to the gills! That’s a good problem; the bad problem is they dumped the keys into a bag. Now you get to shuffle the bag, unpark these cars, and still try to get paid.
Park Deco is one of our more relaxed games but it still ain’t easy! You have four exits, and each time you move a car, you create space to move more. Throughout the shuffle, instead of always jig-sawing cars out of the press, you can also work on sorting keys to open the ability to target certain types of cars and leverage opportunities to boost your bottom line.
In Park Deco, all the players work from the same bag of dice and the same roll. The bag starts with just the “wild” dice, but the colored dice can get in the mix with some careful planning! You can use the wild dice to move any color car but without the ability to earn bonuses. Throughout the game, you’ll have the option to skip moving a car to work on unlocking and adding additional colors of dice to the bag. These will allow you to earn extra money for removing cars of the same color OR skip moving for end-game bonuses. Thus, Park Deco is a game of layers. If you put all your effort into moving cars, you’ll feel good, but you won’t make much money. Put too much effort into unlocking dice and building up bonuses, and you’ll run out of time to move cars and use those upgrades!
