Rimembor - The Beginning

Are you looking for a game you can play with your family, but tired of letting them win to avoid hysteria? Why not go to Rimembor and play together against the evil hordes. Winning and losing will become a shared experience and I promise you it will be fun and challenging for all, be you tall or small.

The players work together as a group of heroic adventurers in the Realm of Rimembor. Forhgot The Wizard King has returned from the place where Wizard Kings go. And once again he has been sending evil minions to plague the local settlements. The players have volunteered to enter the dungeons of Forhgot to find and slay his generals and end the menace.

Gameplay

Together the players must remember the path through each dungeon, avoid traps and wandering monsters, solve puzzles and find loot to help them gain the strength that will make it possible to beat the evil critters guarding the dungeon's lower levels.

To progress in the game the players must reveal Land Cards and find matching pairs, which may then be removed. Each removed pair of cards will activate good or bad events that the players must overcome. They will find treasure, monsters, traps, challenges, hallways and rooms to rest in. And finally, the Boss Monster, one of the Wizard King’s generals. To manage and beat the problems along the way the players must remember and flip personal Memory Tiles, and match them correctly with those of the problems at hand. To win, the team must survive the events and encounters along the way, and in the final battle match the symbols on their Memory Tiles to all the Boss Monster's tiles before the players run out of energy.

If the players succeed, they may decide to keep their equipped loot for their next gaming session. Every session will be different.

Realm of Rimembor was designed by Lars Nielsen, who made the basic game for his daughter. It was originally designed to be played cooperatively with his kid using the memory/matching pairs mechanic, one of the first game mechanics children learn. However, the fun of it quickly required expansions to be made to add on new challenges, treasure and loot. And soon it migrated into the claws of the grownups' gaming group in the form of The Beginning.

It is now playable for grownups, friends, foes and with or without their family.

And through endless hours of testing hundreds of monsters have been vanquished and countless puzzles, traps and challenges have been solved in order to get hands on the legendary loot of Rimembor.

Future of Rimembor

The planned expansions add more heroes, hero skills, advanced rules, kingdom management, more treasure and awesome magical items, more monsters and more ways to get wounded and traumatized.
