Pike the Penguin

Pike the Penguin is a 2-player chase game in which one player controls Pike and the other one Otto the Orca. You will need 4 tokens (pawns, coins, paperclips...) to represent Pike, Otto, and 2 fishes; and a coin.

The board has 12 island spaces (on the card) and 10 ocean spaces (around the card), which are connected as shown in the diagram.

Setup: Otto puts the 2 fish tokens on opposite ocean spaces. Then Pike puts his token on any island space; finally Otto puts his token on any ocean space.

Gameplay:

• On Pike's turn, he must move to any connected space. He may not land on Otto. If he lands on 1 or 2 fishes, he eats them, gains a point for each one, and Otto must place the fish(es) on different unoccupied ocean spaces.
• On Otto's turn, flip a coin. Move him along one (heads) or Two (Tails) connected ocean spaces. If Otto moves onto Pike, he eats him and Otto wins. If Otto moves to a space with 1 or 2 fishes, they flee. Otto moves them: one fish always flees ahead of Otto; a second fish behind him.

Winning: Pike wins if he eats 3 fishes. Otto wins if he lands on Pike.
