Before a masterpiece hung in a museum, it existed in uncertainty.
Every great work of art was created by a single artist, in a specific place, at a particular moment — long before it was framed, cataloged, or protected. Studios, rented rooms, city streets, and quiet workshops shaped what would later be called Priceless.
Priceless is not about where Art lives today.
It is about where Art was born.
What Kind of Game Is This?
Priceless is a competitive trick-taking strategy game about judgment, risk, and hidden value.
Players take the role of knowledgeable art collectors competing to assemble the most valuable collection of masterpieces over six hands. But value is never straightforward — and never guaranteed.
You will:
- Win tricks to gain control, knowing control alone is not enough
- Commit cards to the blind without knowing who will claim them
- Protect masterpieces at the cost of future leverage
- Watch forgeries undermine collections that looked secure
A trick is not a point.
A masterpiece is not safe.
And what you discard may matter more than what you keep.
How the Game Plays (Light Overview)
Each hand unfolds in a familiar trick-taking rhythm, layered with long-term consequences:
- Players secretly contribute cards to a shared blind
- Tricks are played using ranked Collection Cards
- Rank determines who wins control
- Value, revealed at the end of the hand, determines who claims the blind
- Tier determines how many points a masterpiece is ultimately worth
These systems intentionally conflict.
Winning now may cost you later.
Protecting art may prevent you from scoring higher art.
Forgery can satisfy short-term needs while quietly poisoning your final score.
If you cannot play high, you must play low — but art is only lost when protection is gone.
Final Word
Priceless is not about perfect play.
It is about knowing when certainty is an illusion.
The greatest collections are not built by accident.
They are shaped by judgment, timing, and the willingness to be wrong — until you are spectacularly right.
This is not a speed game.
This is not a bluffing party game.
This is a game about restraint, timing, and judgment.
