The series of Caroline books by French cartoonist Pierre Probst (1913 - April 12, 2007) made its debut in 1953, but the crown jewel volume was, inarguably, "The Golden Treasury of Caroline and Her Friends," now out of print and in the public domain. This book has resold for upwards of $1,000 with good reason. The illustrations are charming and the storyline, in which Caroline and her friends Rusty, Leon, Bruno, Inky, Pouf, Spots, Mops, and Bobi travel to distant lands, is captivating. Raised in a home with an extensive collection of books, this volume was my favorite of all my childhood reads, and when I looked at it through the eyes of a Tarot aficionado, I saw that several of Probst's drawings lent themselves to the creation of a deck. This deck of full-size Tarot cards comes in a colorful box with full color booklet. Meanings for each of the 78 cards, in the context of the storyline and artwork, are fully detailed.
