The NetHack Board Game (v2.0)

Descend into the Mazes of Menace in search of the fabled Amulet of Yendor! Acquire strangely useful treasures and encounter monsters of every description. Cope with Yet Another Stupid Death. Recover items from bones piles. And finally play against other players in The NetHack Board Game!

On each turn, players choose if they will move quickly or carefully, picking up handy items and fighting fearsome monsters as they move from the Mazes of Menace through the Castle to Gehennom to retrieve the Amulet and bring it back to the surface.

Included are three game boards (Mazes, Castle, and Gehennom), encounter decks for each board, character cards (each with different play advantages and limitations), dice, player pawns, and a "bones" marker. Encounter cards are cunningly illustrated in old school NetHack style.

Also available: the Gnomish Mines Expansion, the first expansion set for the NetHack Board Game, provides new encounters and new strategies. Venture into the Mines to acquire gemstones that can be used to influence the game or interfere with other players!

Version 2.0 of the NetHack Board Game adds play for up to 4 players, and improved rules for movement, encounters, and bones to increase the strategic options open to each player.
