ChemiProject is a card game designed to make learning organic chemistry an exciting experience. Whether you're playing with friends or exploring on your own, you'll discover that this branch of chemistry—often seen as intimidating—can be surprisingly captivating.
Our mission is simple: turn fun into motivation. After all, the best way to learn is by playing. And who knows? ChemiProject might just inspire the scientists of tomorrow.
ChemiProject offers different gameplay modes, from a strategic version for hardcore players to a simplified edition that kids can enjoy. Of course, we must follow USA regulations and state that the simplified version is for players aged 14 and up.
No matter the version, the core mechanic remains the same: connecting cards by matching colors. These colors represent functional groups, essential topics introduced in high school and early university courses. Just like in dominoes, matching colors link the cards together, simulating what organic chemists call addition reactions.
You can find the simplest versions in our blog. Here we focus, and we sell the adult (+14) version!
The simplified version focuses on recognizing functional groups, while the advanced mode lets players perform complex organic reactions in a fun and intuitive way.
As a PhD in organic chemistry and the creator of ChemiProject, I’ve been amazed to see my friends—far more experienced in board games than me—outplay me without knowing a thing about chemistry. That’s because the game teaches everything you need in just a few minutes.
If there’s one thing that drives learning, it’s emotions. And few things feel better than completely dismantling a friend’s seemingly perfect strategy. That’s the heart of ChemiProject.
To capture that thrill, we introduced BreakRules cards, allowing players to interact in ways that, in real life, might be... questionable. Want to see what a day in the world of ChemiProject looks like? Check out Episode 4—visit our blog for the full chapters.
Every reaction in ChemiProject 1.1 is based on real chemistry. Sure, in an actual lab, purifying each step could take months with painfully low yields—especially for large molecules—but who cares? The science holds up. The ChemiProject 1.1 edition is the most complete version to date (2025). It is a fusion of previous editions A and B, and features 544 cards designed for the ultimate strategic experience. The hardcore is layable with 2-8 players, extensible to around 30 in the simplest modalities. The rules are available as a free download, and you can check the tutorials on our web.
When you get ChemiProject 1.1, you’ll receive everything needed to dive straight into the game:
• 10 Project Cards – essential for gameplay.
• 251 Storage Cards – key to building strategies and mastering the rules.
• 283 BreakRules Cards – adding unexpected interactions and exciting twists.
• A sleek, durable box – perfect for storing and carrying your game.
• Detailed instructions – with QR codes for bonus content and advanced strategies.
If you're looking for the most challenging and exciting version, this is it. Welcome to ChemiProject, where chemistry becomes a game!
