Description

Christ Has Risen! is a board set in the final months of Jesus' life on earth. This is when Jesus shared Christianity's core beliefs with his disciples and the world.

How do I play?

In Christ Has Risen! players take turns empowering Jesus' disciples and guiding them through the Holy Land in search of wisdom, spiritual growth, and key events from the gospels.

The gameboard is a treasure hunt of artifacts from these events and spiritual growth tokens that players hide during game setup. So memory, surprise, and a growing understanding of Jesus' message plays a role in selecting where disciples should go next. You choose which disciple to help - each with their own unique abilities and role within key events from the gospels. Players quickly learn facts about who, what, and where from 8 important events in Jesus' life - each beautifully illustrated by James Padgett and narrated by a Bible verse. Gameplay sparks opportunities to share why Jesus' example is still important to our lives today.

Players must initially cooperate and share guidance of the four disciples (Mary Magdalene, John, James, and Peter), but as more artifacts are revealed competition and the game's pace increase as events from the gospels unfold. The game ends once a disciple completes the 6th gospel event. A game typically lasts 30 minutes.

How do I win?

Players measure their progress in points with multiple paths to victory. Points are awarded for seeking wisdom by answering questions from the gospels, empowering disciples with needed attributes, improving a disciple's spiritual growth, completing events from the gospels, and following your own unique spiritual mission.

Regardless of the score, Everyone is a winner as they gain new insights into Jesus' example and teachings. In Christ Has Risen! personal attributes such as kindness, self-control, faith, and love are modeled by player actions through the game's disciples - reminding us that we are strengthened and known by our fruit from the Holy Spirit.

The game box resembles the Bible and makes an excellent gift and addition to a shelf or coffee table. We know you'll enjoy this unique family experience by sharing Jesus' message of hope during the Easter holiday season.

About the Creators

James L. Padgett (Nov. 4, 1930 – Dec. 19, 2009) was an exceptionally talented man. Not only did he illustrate nearly the entire Old and New Testaments in an incredibly approachable, understandable way - but he was the head coach at University of California, Berkeley from 1968 to 1972 and a coach at the University of Nevada from 1972-76.

Stephen L. Schwartz loves inventing fun and educational games. Stephen's passion stems from age 10 when his cousin Ray (Merle) and Sissy Robbins (inventers of Uno) came visiting asking for relatives to donate money to kickstart a card game.
