Christ Is Born!

Share a story of amazing love.

BACKGROUND

Christ Is Born! is a semi-cooperative board game set at the beginning of Jesus' life on earth. It's when Mary, Joseph, and Wise men from the East set in motion a story of amazing love, faith, and joy.

OBJECTIVES OF THE GAME

In Christ Is Born! players work together helping Mary, Joseph, and the Wise men recreate the story's events from the gospels of Luke and Matthew. The story of Jesus' birth comes to life in a fun and interactive way.

Memory, cooperation, and a growing understanding of how Mary, Joseph, and the Wise men participated in specific Bible events guides gameplay actions. Choosing who to help depends on their involvement in specific events and each player's unique Spiritual Mission. Help the Wise men find Bethlehem to worship Jesus. Give Mary the gift of Faith preparing her for Gabrel's Angelic visit. Players experience this miraculous story from the characters' perspective in a unique, interactive way.

Players start by empowering and guiding Mary, Joseph, and the Wise men to gather what they need for completing events. Competition and the game's pace increase as artifacts from the story are revealed. Players quickly learn the who, what, and where from several events that brought Jesus to earth - each beautifully illustrated by James Padgett and narrated by a Bible verse.

It's a game of rapidly changing options, opportunities, and player interactions that immediately ends when a character completes the story's 6th event.

IS THERE A WINNER?

Players work together while measuring their progress in points. Points are awarded for empowering Mary, Joseph, and the Wise men with needed spiritual gifts, helping character's complete events, and for fulfilling your unique Spiritual Mission. The player with the most points earns the title of Story Master and Christmastide bragging rights.

Regardless of a player's score, everyone's a winner as they experience this facinating story in a fun, interactive, and uniquely approachable way.

In our digital age, table top games are unique in how they bringing people together for sharing and remembering ideas and facts in a fun way. Who doesn't remember the color of Boardwalk in Monopoly? Why not have fun learning and sharing facts from Jesus' birth with friends and family?

Start the tradition of sharing the true meaning of Christmas with your family by playing Christ Is Born! We were so touched by the results of this game that we are in the process of creating its sister game, Christ Has Risen! to be released in Spring 2020 for your Easter celebrations.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR AND DESIGNER

James L. Padgett (Nov. 4, 1930 – Dec. 19, 2009) was an exceptionally talented artist who not only illustrated nearly the entire Old and New Testaments in an incredibly approachable, understandable way - but he was also the head coach at University of California, Berkeley and a coach at the University of Nevada.

Stephen L. Schwartz loves creating fun and memorable games. Stephen's passion stems from age 10 when his cousin Ray (Merle) and Sissy Robbins came visiting, asking relatives to donate money for kickstarting a card game named Uno.
