Description

'Coppers And Killers: A Game Of Detection' by Ultimate Oddball

You are part of an international task force made up of the best detectives the world has to offer, brought to the United States to catch an unknown number of extremely active serial killers. Due to the unabated nature of these crimes, many higher-ups believe these killers are using stolen identities to masquerade as police officers. Your task is to investigate this theory.

Players get a Public Identity card, which stays face up, and a Secret Identity card, which stays face down. A Secret Identity is either Copper, meaning legitimate cop, or Killer, meaning one of the city's serial killers. Games can have any combination of Secret Identity cards. Play is separated into days which start with one player (The Primary Detective) drawing a Tip Line card and passing it face down clockwise to the next player in rotation they haven't passed a Tip Line card to (The Secondary Detective). Both players look at it, and then it's discarded. Primary Detective rotates clockwise each day.

Primary and Secondary Detectives choose to tell the truth or lie about the card to the group in order to avoid or push suspicion. After the Tip Line card portion, players vote on whether to investigate someone. If you're investigated, you are out of the game and your Secret Identity is revealed. Coppers are cleared by investigation but the process draws the ire of a Killer who takes them out, while investigated Killers are arrested. Investigation is never mandatory. When two players remain they must agree to investigate or not investigate, skipping the Tip Line portion. The game ends after they decide.

If they can't agree, the game ends in a draw. If a game ends and any Killers remain, those Killers win. If only Coppers remain, the living Coppers win. Coppers want the game to end with no Killers left and Killers want to blend in until the end. The game alternatively ends when every player has been Primary and Secondary Detective to every other player once, at which point Secret Identities are revealed.

Contains: Sixteen (16) Public Identity Cards, Fifteen (15) Copper Secret Identity Cards, Fifteen (15) Killer Secret Identity Cards, Twenty Four (24) Tip Line Cards (three (3) of each Tip Line Card), Two (2) Rule Cards.

(This card game is a work of fiction. Any resemblances to any persons living or dead are purely coincidental.)
