Family Football Board Game

Family Football Board Game is a quick play, drive-by-drive American Football game that's so simple to play, grandparents can play with their grandchildren.

Included with the game are 20 all time great teams from the past. The ratings, scoring abilities, and defensive strengths are based on actual historical data. Other card sets are available as a separate purchase, including modern and historic season sets, as well as great team compilation sets.

Each player rolls dice to determine the outcome of each drive, using the ratings of each offensive unit, compared to the strength of the opposing defensive unit. Kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns are also possible, as are fumbles, interceptions, and safeties. Other rare plays include fumble and interception returns for touchdowns.

As a comical option, there is a rule set to include REFBALL! as part of the game. REFBALL! allows you to choose a team that the league and referees "favor," to allow for random, conspiracy driven, fixed outcomes on a drive. Just when a team thinks their drive outcome is set, the referees change the outcome ... sometimes, in a teams favor ... sometimes ... costing a team a scoring opportunity.

AFTER PURCHASE: While the game purchase comes with instructions and small game boards in the box, printouts of these boards, and instructions, are available to download, in case you damage or lose these parts, versus repurchasing the game. Also available is an optional scoresheet to download and copy, should you want to create drive summaries and results of your games. Also included is a tutorial, walking you through basic gameplay, and how to read the cards. Feel free to print the scoresheet and tutorial, for your own use. We recommend you browse through the tutorial after purchase, to get an idea of the rules, and gameplay, while waiting for your purchase to arrive.
