Before we get into the game, let's do an age and content disclaimer so we don't offend anyone:
You have always had a special place in your heart for brave adventurers who go out and fight monsters and save villagers and all that noble crap. You love them dearly because they are all, every last one, freaking morons. They join your guild and go out on adventures while you, as the Guildmaster, get glory for all their hard work.
Oh yeah. Idiots. The lot of them. But idiots who are making you famous. So you smile and wave and send them out to kill monsters. Or die trying. Whichever.
As long as you get to sit back at the guildhouse, sip mead, and rake in the glory, you don’t really care.
In Guildmaster of Dais (pronounced “days”) you run a guild. You send your Brave Adventurers (cannon fodder) out to battle horrific monsters.
In your turn, you will play as one of these idiots (uh…I mean “heroes”) and use your cards to attack Monsters. You keep track of all Monsters you kill.
If you retire your character before you die, your guild earns glory for all the Monsters you have killed. The game has a push-your-luck element because you earn more with each Monster you kill. So the bigger the kill pile, the more glory your guild earns. But if you die, your guild earns squat. Kill as many monsters as you can, but retire before it’s too late.
We believe that artwork is great, and makes a game pretty. But ultimately whether you love a game or hate it will be based on how fun it is to play.
Games are about sitting down with friends and family--and possibly your pet ferret, who you're pretty sure uses your computer to pull up ferret porn when no one's looking--and having fun.
And so Art-Free Games was born. Our goal is to make enjoyable games that prove you don't need art to have fun.
In the end, it's all about the game.
