Description
Helium Futures is an educational board game co-developed by Katherine Ball and No Fracking Arizona in spring 2019 for a Masters’ project. Explore helium extraction in Arizona by exploring the future of your community. Play through decision-making scenarios and observe how industry, regulators, and community members interact when development moves into new regions.
Helium Futures intends to be a game about education and empowerment. Play as a character, watch industry explore and develop, and make decisions that impact the state of your county throughout a Boom and Bust Cycle.
Helium Futures has been recognized within the research community with an honorable mention at the 4S Making and Doing 2019 exhibit and support from a Arizona State University Civic Engagement Grant.
