Interstellar Envoys

Rule the Galactic Council!

Humanity has spread throughout the solar system. Its various factions enjoy a time of tenuous peace. Scientists have just developed the interstellar drive, opening up a new era of exploration.

Now, as humanity makes diplomatic contacts with alien civilizations, your faction seeks to gain the highest reputation in hopes of leading the forming Galactic Council.

In Interstellar Envoys, discover planets, hire recruits, send envoys, patrol shipping routes, and navigate the changing political landscape as you lead your faction to dominance of known space.

How do you play?

In Interstellar Envoys, you represent one of six asymmetric human factions. Throughout the game you will be working to earn points by placing your envoys on planets and by patrolling trade routes. In addition, players gain points by achieving their secret mission and by working towards shared objectives that change during the course of the game.

The central mechanic of the game is the rotating launch site. This launch site has one rocket pointing at each sector of space. After each turn, the launch pad rotates one space clockwise so that each rocket changes its trajectory. Each rocket has a set limit. When that limit is reached, the rocket automatically launches into that sector of space.

During a player's turn, they take two actions (and possibly other "free actions"). Actions include such options as researching a planet, placing recruits on rockets, moving envoys from a planet to patrol a trading route, or drawing a specialist card.

The game ends when all of the planet spaces are filled, when any player reaches 30 points, or when a player runs out of cubes. At that point, each player takes one more turn and the final points are tallied.

When would I want to play Interstellar Envoys?

• Play Interstellar Envoys when you are in the mood for strategy with just a pinch of luck.
• Play it when you have a group that loves to out-think each other.
• Play it with casual gamers who are ready to get a little more serious.
• Play it with serious gamers before or after the big game of the night. (It plays in about an hour.)
