If you want to run the best radio station in the land, you’ll need money. It’s business after all! Money comes from advertisers and advertisers want listeners. Listeners want music... that and enough wattage to beam it into there radios.
You’ll need all of this and little cunning to survive. The radio business can be surprisingly ruthless. So watch your back as you play the tracks!
Buy land, build a tower, increase the wattage, choose your music and build your radio empire!

RadioLand is a 2-6 player worker placement game where you try to build the best radio empire.
The game is played on a map with 8 cities that have a bit of randomness in their location.

Each city has a population of listeners. Each listener is into one of 5 styles of music:

You'll need to carfully choose where to build your radio towers, how strong they are, what frequency they broadcast on and what style of music they play in order to reach as many listeners as possible.
Once you have the listeners, you can bring in the ad revenue!

Worker placement games are all about the actions you can take. Here they are in a nutshell... take a look at the rules for more details!
Market Research: Find out what the public wants to hear! Place cubes representing the musical styles on the cities.
Buy Land: You gotta build those radio towers somewhere! Place a player hex on a peice of land you want to buy.
Buy Wattage: Those towers need juice! Two choices here: How much wattage to buy (the more you buy the farther your radio tower will reach) and in what frequency (cities can't get signals from more than one tower on the same frequncy).
Set Format: Whattcha gonna play? You can broadcast mucic in anyone of the 5 styles of music.
Claim Advertisement: It's all about the money right? If you reach more listeners you can claim the higher value ads.
Cycle Ads: Sometimes the advertisers come to you, other times you gotta go to them. Bring in new ad possibilites and also earn a "record." More on those in a bit.
Top of the Charts: A hit song can make a world of difference. View or manipulate the hottest song on the airwaves at the moment. That will double the value listeners in that style of music.

This is where the ruthless side of the radio business rears it's head.
Records are collected by the players throughout the game. They are used to take actions from other players or to protect your own actions from being taken away from you.
Whenever you place a meeple, you may decide to place one or more records under it to secure that action.
See an action that you want, but it's already taken? If you have enough records, you can take it from them!
