The Silvis Woods are home to many small Critter vying to survive, and the constant threat of the expanding presence of the Predators of the Lobus and Vulporo families brings greater threats.
Take an ever growing family of Critters and explore the diverse Silvis Woods all the while avoiding Predators and attempting to save as many of your family as you can from the evil Dens and deliver to the great Usates.
Usates can only truly rescue one family, and they must have enough Sustenance to be saved. Which unique family will make it?
In Silvis up to 4 Players will be racing against one another, and the distinctive Predator threat by laying new Forest tiles, playing Cards that can completely alter the state of the board and can cause some ruthless combinations.
All whilst trying to balance how many Critters to keep in the Woods, each one you save nets you a point, but each one you keep gives you more action points each turn. A game of cute Critters and idyllic forest backdrops with a very large dose of player interaction for those evil enough.
Steam Workshop::Silvis - Explore, Survive, Race to save your Critters
The game contains Domino Silvis Tiles with two Silvis regions each (Woods, Dark Woods, Farms, Brush, Brooks, Glades & Dens), Action Cards to alter global effects or boost your Critters. Player Cards to keep track of actions and your Critters abilities and plenty of Tokens to move around Silvis.

Just how DO you rescue your Critters, ensure the other beasties of Silvis get eaten by Predators and above all appease the Deer lord Usates?
First choose your Critter, take their 3 Tokens and Player Card and get comfortable with their Active ability on the top of the card, and Passive on the bottom. The cards are double sided and the Actions side detail all the Actions you can perform on a turn.

On your turn you may perform 4 of any of the 6 Actions in any order split between them as you want. For instance you could Move 3 times and Explore once in a turn as your 4 Actions.
Silvis is effectively played in two Phases. The first part of the game is Exploration where Critters are adding new Silvis Tiles to the expanding board hoping to find Dens to score a Point.
When Exploring, the Dagamus Critter below can add up to 2 Silvis Tiles to an Adjacent space to their current Tile, in any orientation as long as it doesn't make an area impassable.

When Exploring a Den, you add the next available Den Token onto it to show the order of the Dens. Dens spawn Predators, Usates and where Critters will be aiming to get to rescue and ultimately save their families.
In this example the 6th and final Den has been played, so the 6 Den Token is placed on it, and the second Phase of Silvis begins as Usates enters the Woods

If a Critter is Adjacent to a Brook Space they can spend an Action to Gather Sustenance.

This Sustenance Token stays with them until they spend it to Rescue a Critter at a Den, which increases their Tokens by 1, and gives them an extra Action each turn.

Once Usates is in play, a Critter can Move onto that Den with Usates and Save themselves. Spend the Sustenance, remove the Critter and gain 1 Point. Usates then moves to the next available Den. Meaning Players can prep for where Usates will move to.

That Sustenance.. And Critter however can easily be Hunted by Predators lurking in those very Dens.
At the end of each Player's turn they will Draw 1 Card from the Action Deck. This could be a Global Card that affects everything in Play for an entire round, or a Critter Card to target one specific Critter and discard upon use. Players can play ANY amount of Cards they have, at the beginning of ANY players turn.
Some examples of these cards are below:

If a Player plays the Owl Card, any Critter moving into Glade Space during Night is immediately consumed by the winged menace and removed from Play, you could lock Players into... Or out of specific areas with this. A Loud Crack Card stops all Predators moving. Do you save yourself? Or stop a Predator into the path of someone else?
If a Player Draws a Predator Card, this is immediately Played onto the next available Den space. If there are no Dens Explored the Predator lies in wait and will immediately spawn on the first Den Explored.

Once in play, Predators will increase their Scent each Round until a Critter is within range at which point they are Hunted
In this example, the Lobus Predator has a Scent of two so from it’s Space, counting 2 spaces outwards we can see the highlighted section shows where it’s Scent range is. Currently, only the blue Ericipino Critter will be Hunted. If it’s Scent was 3 then the green Ardius and pink Lepukune Critters would also be at risk of being Hunted.

Once Hunted a corresponding Hunt Token is placed on the Critter and at the end of each of their turns the Predator moves towards them based on which Predator it is and if it is Day or Night.
Once a Predator lands on the Space of a Critter they are removed from play and the Predator moves to the next available Den. So perhaps you want to sacrifice a Critter to move the Predator to a Den closer to other Players or free up a Den for Usates? The animal kingdom is a cruel cruel place!
Other than just moving away from Predators, there are plenty of other ways a Critter can survive until being Rescued or the Predator Hunts another Critter.
Some Action Cards will allow you additional movement options, as well as abilities for each Critter. For instance the Dagamus Critter can move 3 Spaces for free, all it takes is flipping the Critter to it’s exhausted side so that particular Critter Token can’t use that ability again.

The Brush Space will also allow a Critter to spend an Action in it to Hide, causing any Hunting Predator to be flipped to its ‘?’ side meaning it won’t chase Hunt this turn.

Each new round the First Player denoted will flip the Day/Night Token which will also alter the Farm Spaces. For fear of Farmers the Predators cannot Move into this Space during the Day, in this example the Critter is effectively saved this Round by the only quick route to it being blocked by the Farm.

Once each Action Card has been drawn, the game ends. Who ever scored the most points throughout will have their Critters family saved by Usates to explore more calm Forests for generations.
