Sovereign Fate

Players manipulate their knowledge of future events through negotiation, bluffing, and threats in order to build the most powerful kingdom. They must adapt to an ever-changing field of play as fate itself twists and bends under their feet.

Overview

Sovereign Fate is an information-brokering strategy card game, playable by 3-5 players. Players must utilize a mix of information and resource gathering and trading in order to end the game with the most points, crowning them as the true monarch of the land.

Timeline and Events

Gameplay takes place over a timeline of 5 rounds. At the end of each round, an event from the timeline plays out. Every event is made of two cards: a Target and a Fate. Target cards determine which players are affected by the event. Fate cards determine what happens to those targeted players.

Player Actions

Every player has a hidden role that determines the value each resource type has for them. On their turn they may either Gather resources or Prophesize, an ability that allows them to see the details of a single Target or Fate card in the timeline.

Players may trade any resource, prophecy, or in-game action freely. Additionally, players may spend their Twist Token to Twist a Fate. Twisting a Fate swaps the Fate card's effect to an alternate effect written on the card.

Use clever negotiations and divinations to place yourself in fortune's favor and stay a step ahead of your enemies.
