TerraSquares

TerraSquares is a game for 2 to 4 players about building the largest connected area of your terrain. Each player has 5 habitats of one terrain colour (blue oceans, orange deserts, purple mountains, or green forests).

There are two ways to play the game:

• Casual Mode is a little quicker and requires less brain power.
• Serious Mode makes you think a bit more seriously about where everyone is placing terrain cards.

Take turns placing land and habitats. Your turn is simple:

1. Draw the top terrain card and place it anywhere, except on top of a habitat. You may rotate terrains.
2. Place a habitat on any square matching your colour that does not already contain a habitat. It does not need to be on the card you just placed.

In Casual Mode, play simply passes clockwise.

In Serious Mode, play passes to the the player with the least total connected squares. In a tie, the active player chooses which player goes next among the tied players. Since the first player is the greatest disadvantage, this gives them a slight edge to counteract this.

Once all habitats are placed, the game ends and everyone counts up their points. Each habitat scores 1 point for each connected matching terrain. Your habitats may score off the same terrain squares
