There are many Bible games that do trivia. However, this is the first and only that focuses on learning the Bible timeline and where people are placed in history. Have you ever wondered in what century was Moses? Where in the Bible is Mordecai? How long was Adam's lifespan? All will be answered!
The Olive Tree is a co-operative Bible timeline game that reveals God's "Spiritual Family Tree" and the "People of Faith" written about in Hebrews 11. There are 3 levels on The Olive Tree which divide the Bible into sections. Points are accumulated by matching a Bible Character with where they are found in the Bible. As players progress, the 9 Timeline Rounds will try to lower the Tree’s Fruit Points. Will you succeed at bearing enough Fruit by the last round?
Make sure you have a large playing field for this game. Within The Olive Tree Box find and separate the Root & Vine cards from the rest of the stack of cards. Place the Root & Vine cards in the center of the playing field face up in this order: Root Level 1 is the bottom card, Vine Level 2 is the middle card and Vine Level 3 is the top card. These 3 cards are what the Branch cards connect to.
Shuffle the stack of cards and distribute one card to each player. Players are not allowed to look at their card. Players take a card stand from the box, set their card into the stand and place the stand on the playing field in-front of themselves. The stack of cards is placed face down and becomes the Branch Deck.
Take the Timeline Round card and place it below the Root card. The Clear Gem goes onto number 1 of the Timeline to identify the initial round. From the box give a Growth/Timeline Guide as a key for players to understand the card effects, Fruit Points and Timeline Icons. The Branch Deck and Dice can be placed in The Olive Tree Box during gameplay for ease of use. Now the game is ready to begin.
A Player’s turn consists of;
1.Drawing a card and setting it into a card stand
2.Using the Timeline Icons effect
3.Assisting other players with Hints/ Answering Hints
4.Placing the Branch card onto The Olive Tree
5.Using the Growth Guide effect, if you are able
Once each player has used their turn, the round is now over and the next round begins. The clear gem then moves to the next ascending number on the Timeline Round card. During the rounds there is no particular order on who’s turn is first.
