Its hard to believe that The Sweeney Tarot is ten years old!
I am re-releasing this deck now because a buyer has brought to my attention to some inconsistencies with the formatting, which were found distracting to them. When I first made this deck, I was making it for myself and didn't see them as flaws. But now that I'm older and the deck has met some notoriety, I understand the importance of uniformity in a piece.
I spent this past summer refining the edges and making sure they look uniform, but I also redesigned the packaging. The inset box design is sturdier and more resistent to water damage, keeping your cards safe from elements like rain (which happened one summer while vending outdoors), ice (which happened another time while reading at a bar) and your querent's tears (which has happened too many times to count.

So what IS The Sweeney Tarot?
The Sweeney Tarot is a personal take on an old classic, based loosely on the Rider-Waite-Smith style of tarot. I focused less on the imagery of the classic deck and more on what the meaning of it was for me. Tarot is always going to be a look into another person's worldview, and this is mine.
My ultimate goal was to make something that was easy to read. The minor arcana are color-coded for quick identification (red coins, yellow wands, green cups, blue swords.) This aligns with the way that I read: picking out general themes and then working down into specifics.
It has been a pleasure and a journey to learn to read with this deck and every time I think I've outgrown it, I'll pick it back up again and fall back in love.
