The Wise/cracks/ of Báyò Akómoláfé is a special print-on-demand product co-created through an inspired collaboration between Báyò Akómoláfé and iNous. The deck contains 48 exquisite cards pairing the contemplative artworks of Lanon Prigge with the poetic wisdom of Báyò Akómoláfé.

As a co-creation that has spanned disparate geographies, out-of-synch timelines and diverse artistic intentions, Wise/cracks/ is a demonstration of the creative practises that can be cultivated together in rethinking and reworlding.

The pairing of contemplative artwork and poetic text on each card acts as an invitation to unfurling and untaming.

The inspirational wisdom in this deck has been sourced from the diverse musings of Báyò Akómoláfé in essays and short posts, lectures and presentations given around the world, and video interviews. Some of these writings can be found on Báyò's website.

The jumbo-sized design grants the spaciousness needed to fully immerse yourself in the intricacy of the contemplative artworks. ABOUT THE DECK

The jumbo-sized cards in this deck measure 3.5 x 5.5 inches and are printed in high resolution on 320gsm card stock. They are flexible and delicate in appearance, and yet robust and sturdy in design.

Each card is protected with a UV coating to ensure the longevity of the printed artwork. This also gives the cards a smooth, glossy finish adding vibrancy to the images and making the deck a pleasure to handle.

The 48-card deck plus accompanying information booklet are contained in a sturdy box with a crisp design, ideal for keeping within reach on a coffee table, sideboard or work space.

About Báyò Akómoláfé

Dr Báyò Akómoláfé is a descendant of Yoruba fields of archetypal becomings and mythopoeic landscapes. He is an author, celebrated speaker, teacher, and self-styled trans-public intellectual (a concept imagined together with and inspired by the shamanic priesthood of the Yoruba healer-trickster)- whose vocation goes beyond justice and speaking truth to power to opening up other spaces of power-with, and queering fond formulations and configurations of hope.

Báyò is Visionary Founder and Elder of The Emergence Network and Chief Host of the widely popular online-offline course/festival series, We Will Dance with Mountains. He is a recipient of the 2021 New Thought Walden Award intended to honor those who use empowering spiritual ideas and philosophies to change lives.

Now living between India and the United States, Báyò considers his most sacred work to be learning how to be with his daughter and son, Alethea Aanya and Kyah Jayden – and their mother, his wife and “life-nectar”, Ijeoma.

About the Artist

Dr Lanon Prigge is a life-long spiritual seeker and creative muse, with an extended background in performing arts and ethical embodiment practises. He began painting LightCatchers in 2019 when he started receiving intuitive visions in the form of vibrant colours and intricate patterns. With the hopes of being able to capture these images for posterity, Lanon taught himself to paint with a digital stylus and tablet. A daily contemplative process of sculpting light gave rise to The LightCatcher Chronicles, a collection of artworks reflecting the dynamic complexities at the heart of existence. The artworks are intended as sources of contemplation, illumination and self-reflection.

As a multifaceted artist, Lanon has always been inspired to find pathways for the authentic expression of personal and collective truths through multidisciplinary means. His prior experience in performing arts, shamanism, improvisation and spiritual reflection inform his current expression through LightCatchers.

About the Content Curator

Dr Samantha Prigge is an artistic researcher who founded iNous as an independent institute dedicated to sharing the timeless wisdom of Artistic Minds. She is also a multimedia content curator who currently uses graphic design and video to bring inspired words, images and music into relationship for the purposes of artful contemplation.

Samantha shares a background in performing arts and ethical embodiment practises with Lanon. After spending 20 years immersed in academia, she walked away from the stringent confines of institutionalised learning to pursue a more intuitive, organic and autonomous lifestyle. She believes that each one of us is a sacred work of art unfolding within a greater Mystery which connects us all.

iNous collaborates with inspired minds from around the world in the creation of uplifting resources and self-reflective tools including The SoulSong Journey, which uses artful contemplation as a tool for sovereign sense-making.
