The seven kingdoms in the land of Terravis converge under the Tall Tower of the Emperor Penguin. His Royal High Nest did this to ease his burden of rule, but it led to establishment of the Tower Markets where birds from all seven kingdoms meet to trade goods. This, in turn, made the Tower Markets a hot spot for Food Merchants and Troubirdours.

It is here where you will begin your adventure.

Troubirdours is a game for 2 to 4 players where each player controls a travelling troop of musician birds: Troubirdours. You will need to earn gold and other resources in order to recruit new members, add props and costumes and earn new patrons.

It will take both musical skill and business sense to make it on top. Do you have what it takes?

The Goal

The game ends immediately when any player collects 8 cards. The player with the most Victory Points (VP) wins.

The number in the top-right of your cards, special card combos (like the Sun/Backdrop set), and your Character's "Favorite" set bonuses.


Turn Structure

Every turn follows this strict 4-step sequence:

  1. Rotate Roof - Rotate the Roof Tile clockwise one position (this changes all market prices).

    • Cycle - Resources on the stage under the "0" position are discarded then the remaining resources are moved to thge stage.

    • Refill - Draw a new cards for any empty card slot not under the "0" slot.

  2. Patron Income - Collect resources from the supply for every Patron card you own.

  3. Move - Move one kingdom (CW or CCW) or stay put.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • Market - Buy (from your current kingdom) and Sell (place resources on your icons anywhere on the board).

    • Perform - Roll dice based on your musicians to collect gold/resources from your current stage.


The Market

  • The Roof is King - The price you pay (or get paid) depends on where the Roof Tile is currently pointing.
  • Buying Resources - You don't pay the bank; you pay the player whose icon is on that market square.
  • Buying Cards - You pay the bank using resources from your chest that match the card's requirements.
  • Selling - You "list" items on your specific character icons. You only get the gold later when another player buys them.

Performing

To get the gold and resources sitting on a Stage:

  • Roll - You get one die for each Musician type you own.

  • Rerolls - If you have duplicates of a musician, you get one reroll per extra card.

  • Instruments - These give a 1 point advantage to your die results.

  • Rewards - Take resources from the stage for each die you roll under the roof value (after modifiers).
