Voyagers of Ojnae

Background

You live in a city near the edge of the known world. Today an explorer came back with tales of great monsters, grand adventures, and exotic plants. You want to take part in this dawning age of exploration, but there’s a festival just 2 weeks away and you were hoping to sell your goods during it. Then you get an idea! The explorer mentioned an island not far away that held a veritable treasure, you could get to the island and be back in time to sell it! You head off at once, but you’re not the only one to think of it. Now’s your chance to voyage beyond the competition and make your mark on the world.

Victory Condition

End the game with the most gold. The game lasts 14 rounds, each player getting 14 turns. You earn money (besides the possible daily amount) at the end of the game based on what you collect and brought back to the capital, and from any goods you sell before the end of the game.

Gameplay

1) Roll the die. If you get an even number, you gain 1 gold. Roll again if you have any perishable goods (fruit or flowers), if you roll a 1 you lose 2, if you roll a 2 you lose 1, otherwise you don’t lose any.

2) If you’re over the open ocean at the beginning of your turn, draw a weather card. The Kraken does not affect air transport. If you get a storm, or a Kraken when on the waves, you lose your mode of transport and the goods and workers with you. Other players can rescue you. Otherwise roll a die and if you get an even number you can move 1 space.

3) You can travel, gather treasures, or buy a vehicle/ hire workers.

4) You can also trade goods/gold/workers with other players as much as you want as long as you’re on the same space. You can make whatever deals you want (that don’t contradict the rules) as well (no matter the distance).

Travel – You can move up to the amount that your mode of transport allows. To get to other islands you count the island you’re going to as well. Example: If you’re on the capital and there’s 2 tiles of ocean and then another island, to get to that island you need a movement of 3 or more. You can use more than 1 vehicle at a time if you have at least 1 worker for each of the other vehicles.

Gathering – You gather 1 treasure per worker, and 1 for yourself as well. If you land on an island that has a face-down treasure card, you flip it over as soon as you arrive. If you run out of cubes for a resource, more of it can’t be collected. Exotic wood takes up 2 capacity, double the amount of the other treasures.

Buying – You can buy vehicles and hire as many workers as you want from any urban island, the prices depend on the island you’re at.

Ending At the end of the game the only treasures that matter are the ones that are at the Capital. You get gold according to your market share of each of the treasures (All of that treasure/More than half/less than half). Example: If you have 1 Luxurious Fruit, and no one else has any, you earn 4 gold (100%). If you have 3 Angelic Flowers, and everyone else combined has 2, you get 4 gold (60%). If you have 2 Exotic wood and everyone else combined has 2, you earn 1 gold (50%).
