Description

This is a moderated game that is played in alternating phases. In day phases the players vote someboy out - the villagers hoping to find a werewolf, the werewolves trying to steer the voe towards somebody else. In night phases the werewolves get to choose someone to eliminate and the seer (on the village team) chooses a player to see if they are the werewolf.

Five different games can be played:

1 - The Base-Game is generally a 15 player game (it can be played with more or less) as described above.

2 - Werewolves: Torches & Pitchforks is like the Base-Game but it takes a 'proper mob' to vote somebody out. Characters have either torches or pitchforks and it takes half (or near half) of each to vote someone out. There are three wild cards that count as having both a torch and a pitchfork; the seer, the mayor (who can seek out other wild cards at night) and the hang man (who can steal a win from the werewolves if he survives). Again, a 15 player game that can be played with more or less if necessary.

3 - Werewolf-Villager-Necromancer adds a third team to the base game. Undead villagers and werewolves have infiltrated both teams. The seer can still only detect werewolves, but there is a mage wolf who can detect undead. Designed for 9 to 25 players, but more can be added if desired.

4 - In Cursed Wolves players get three cards, one of which they do not get to see but is shown to the other players. A player with two werewolf cards in their hand is a pack wolf and acts as normal. A player with one werewolf card in their hand and a face-down werewolf card is a cursed wolf and does not know it. A player with no or one werewolf card is a normal villager. The wolf pack can either try to recruit a cursed wolf or make a normal night kill. If they try to kill a cursed wolf then he gets to make that night's kill instead - posibly killing one of the pack.

5 - Ultimate-Style is like the Base-game, but more characters have powers.

There are four expansions to Werewolves:

The Village

Alpha Wolf

Story Time

Monster Hunters
