Wizards Of Waywren

Have you ever dreamed of using your magical prowess to conquer the lands? Flex those magical muscles in this game of magical dominance over the mystical land of Waywren!

This is a strategy board game of conquest and character growth. Choose to grow your mage's magical prowess to master more powerful spells for late game conquest, or just spread your magic as profusely as possible early on throughout the land of Waywren. Beware the other mages that seek magical dominion in the same domain!

This game features the choice of team play, a hex tile based board that changes for each game play, unique spells to cast, and can accommodate up to 6 players in the base version!

Turn Description

Each turn has 3 phases: EXPLORE, STUDY, and POWER UP.

EXPLORE: Draw and play a map tile.

STUDY: Draw a spell card from the library, play a spell, or discard 3 spells. If 3 spells are discarded, then choose to EXPLORE, POWER UP, or draw a new spell from the library.

POWER UP: Play one piece of magic power on the map or increase your wizards spell power level. (This allows you to learn more poowerful magic spells).

Game Play and Scoring

Players score victory points by clustering their magic power in groups on the map tiles. Some map tiles have intrinsic magic to them, while others need to be imbued with the wizard's elemental power in order to increase their influence. The larger the cluster of magic at the end of the game, the more victory points are awarded. Once magic clusters reach a certain size, it can be more benficial to start created a new, unconnected magic power cluster to score even more points.

Use the spells you learn along the way to increase the amount of power you can imbue at once, shield your current areas of magical power, move other wizards magic out of the way, or speedily explore the map area. Beware of the wizards you are battling for dominance with... for the spells they learn along the way could thwart your current magic power clusters or speed them ahead in exploration to the end of the game before your plans come to fruition.

The game ends when the map tile pile reaches a certain number of undrawn map tiles.
