Description

You’re enjoying building a sandcastle at the beach with a few friends when out of nowhere a group of volleyballing locals kick your sandcastle down and start to disparage your volleyball skills. Not being one to back down from a challenge, you accept their invite to a game and it’s on. Get ready for a battle to 11 points (7 points for a short game). The winner will go down as the best in history.

Getting Started

Components needed for the game include: 3 cubes in two different colors, 3 discs in those same two colors, 2 meeples of each color and 1 of each color die.

Gameplay

Play starts with a serve and the non-serving team will get a chance to hit the ball up to three times to get the ball back over the net.

If the non-serving player cannot, or doesn't want to, move a meeple to the location with the ball, the serving team scores a point. The non-serving team would get a Stamina cube back. If the non-serving team can get a meeple to the location of the ball, they take over on offense and move their Hits disc to '1'.

If you choose to keep the ball on your side of the net after seeing your die roll values, you are setting the ball.

When you set the ball, if the meeple color of the meeple hitting the ball matches the die on the Set square, you gain a Stamina back. On your third hit, you must volley the ball over the net.

If you choose to hit the ball over the net after seeing your die roll values, you are volleying the the ball.

When you volley the ball, if the meeple color of the meeple hitting the ball matches the die on the Volley square, it costs an extra Stamina to hit the ball for your opponent.

Winning

Score 11 points before your opponent to win. If you want to play a shorter game, play to 7 points.
