• FLAILS & CITADELS Pocket is a new grimdark solo adventure compatible with DOOM PILGRIM Pocket.
• It is a Pocket version of FLAILS & CITADELS.
• It uses the same game mechanics as the critically acclaimed DOOM PILGRIM, but offers more adventuring, with the focus on encounters and looting, compared to the original DOOM PILGRIM, which has a wider medieval setting scope, sometimes less appealing for a regular fan of fantasy games.
• FLAILS & CITADELS Pocket is like DOOM PILGRIM Pocket 2.0 also in another feature: Its cards have almost always some effect. While in the classic DOOM PILGRIM (and its Pocket version), quite often you just pass a card with no change in your character sheet (for example if you come to a town with no gold in your purse), in FLAILS & CITADELS (and its Pocket version), cards usually have some effect for every condition you are in at the moment, which makes the game much more actionable and balanced.

Enough comparison! What you get here is:

• Simple rules, deep narrative, and a big replay value.
• A game where you choose your path based on vague dark images inspired by Tarot, cave paintings and medieval art: Each turn you take 3 cards, from which you choose - based on the images only - which card to discard (refused path), which card to put on the bottom of the deck (postponed path), and which card to play (path taken).
• Dark story that is different every time you play, and thanks to your memory – if you remember which card hides which danger or benefit – your next plays can be a bit easier. So, this game is not only roguelike, but even roguelite in a way.
• The pack of 54 cards (each with its own illustration on the front side and its own text on the flip side) that is fully compatible with the base DOOM PILGRIM Pocket and all its expansions, so you have wide options for expanding your gameplay.
• A game that plays similarly to a gamebook - you have a character sheet into which you write down your stats and backpack changes as the text on the cards tells you, based on your decisions and current conditions.

• The rules are the same as in the big version, but they are not included. You can read them online or download the printable version from this page. See in the downloads section. The file is named “DP rules - print centered, cut off, fold 2times” which sums up all you need to do to get the rules paper crafted properly and ready to be included in the box. Use ordinary office paper, which is thin and easily foldable.

• FLAILS & CITADELS Pocket uses 1 point smaller font than the classic version, so if you have problems reading smaller text, consider taking the bigger version.
